Prosecco “L’Est” and “L’Ovest” of the Bronca Sisters

East and West, two contrasting identities that intertwine and enhance each other. These are the two new labels from the Bronca sisters, two historic Prosecco Superiore DOCGs:

  • L’Est Brut
  • L’Ovest Extra Dry

Sisters Antonella and Ersiliana Bronca are the company’s founders In the heart of the Prosecco hills,. Since their father Livio gifted them their first plots of land in 1989, their family project began.

The Bronca Sisters represent a captivating story of passion, dedication, and tradition in the world of high-quality wine production.

From their profound love for the land and their immense strength, the project was born with the aim of highlighting their unique and unmistakable terroir. A terroir composed of elements made up of microclimates, soils, and unique landscapes that together form a mosaic waiting to be explored and understood.

The two new labels, Est and Ovest, are part of a micro-zoning project initiated with the “Particelle” line.

“L’EST” brut

This wine originates from the vineyards located on the Conegliano slope. It captures the essence of the eastern hills of the area, where the vines benefit from the warmth of the morning sun. The vineyards are approximately 40 years old. They grow at an altitude ranging from 150 to 250 meters above sea level, allowing for a significant temperature variation. The grapes are handpicked into crates, a delicate and skillful process that ensures only the best grapes are selected for winemaking.

This “Est” Prosecco stands out for its freshness, with hints of white flowers and delicate fruity notes derived from iron-rich soils that impart a pleasantly fresh character to the wine.

“L’OVEST” extra dry

On the other hand, this wine originates from the Valdobbiadene area in the west, where marl and clay soils dominate. They provide the wine with an excellent balance between sugar content and acidity.

The wine expresses a different personality: richer and fresher but with a sugar content that makes it both pleasant and elegant. The harvest is always done by hand and in crates to allow for careful selection of the grapes.

Two wines that have much in commo. Both represent two sides of the same coin: a single territory.

Wine is an intimate thing and must be produced in a uniquely and respectfully manner towards the territory.

The line “Particelle”

Line le particelle

The “Particelle” line by the Bronca Sisters explores and celebrates the uniqueness of the different terroirs within their vineyards. The main goal of “Particelle” is to highlight how soil, microclimate, and altitude influence the final wine. Each parcel encapsulates a world of nuances that together weave a tapestry representing the potential of Conegliano Valdobbiadene.

Particella 68 – Brut Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Rive di Colbertaldo

This “parcel” of land is situated in the Colbertaldo area on calcareous, rocky soil where the vines struggle to survive. The vines, no less than 20 years old, impart great minerality and elegant freshness to the wine.

Particella 232 – Extra Brut Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Rive di Farrò

A wine that professionals would describe as “vertical”. It highlights a cascade of freshness, accompanied on the nose by clear hints of white flowers and citrus. These aromatic notes are enveloped by a subtle minerality, a testament to the unique geological conditions of the Farrò terroir.

Particella 181 – Brut Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Rive di Rua

The fruity notes of apple, pear, and citrus distinctly emerge in this wine. It has a well-defined structure, with a pleasant acidity leading to a long and clean finish. This wine comes from warm soil, rich in iron residues, and is immediately characterized as “creamy” upon the first taste.

This project reveals the Bronca sisters’ deep respect for their homeland, accompanied by a fear: not the fear of making mistakes, but the fear of misinterpreting their beloved territory.

A strong message emerges from these labels, voiced by Antonella:

Naming the two wines East and West carries a significant message: wine is not about sugar levels, whether brut, extra brut, or extra dry; these two wines are the unmistakable image of two unique territories
